Professional Licensure Information

Butler County Community College (BC3) offers several associate degree and certificate programs that prepare students for professional licensure and/or certification within the state of Pennsylvania.  Some programs lead to licensure and/or certification when all program requirements have been fulfilled, while others may require individual courses that prepare students to take certain licensure/certification examinations throughout the course of study.

Some programs may have selective admissions criteria and processes. Prospective students should contact the Office of Admissions to inquire about the criteria for admissions and program-specific application procedures.

For complete program information, including the program description, required courses and outcomes, please visit the BC3 Catalog.

NOTICE TO OUT-OF-STATE STUDENTS

Professional licensure and/or certification requirements may vary from state to state.  There may be a need for additional education requirements and/or special authorization from the professional licensing/certification agency in that state.

Students from states other than Pennsylvania seeking to enroll in a BC3 course or program that customarily leads to professional licensure/certification, will be contacted via email upon submission of a completed BC3 Application for Admission to provide additional information and resources regarding program licensure.

Applicants may also contact the professional licensing/certification agency in their state of residence directly to determine whether or not the BC3 course or program meets the requirements in that state.  Learn about licensing requirements in your state by visiting the CareerOneStop License Finderor the NC-SARA Professional Licensure Directory

For a detailed listing of programs, contact information, and the current status of whether the program meets, does not meet, or the status has yet to be determined can be found on the Status of Programs Meeting State Requirements document.
