If you’re passionate about helping people regain their mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life, this Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program provides the education and experience to do just that. You’ll train in labs and clinics, learning therapeutic techniques under supervision of physical therapists—and prepare for licensure to start your career.
What You'll Learn
- Apply anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic exercise to support patient care
- Implement treatment plans as prescribed by Physical Therapists, including manual therapy, stretching, balance, and modalities
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjust as directed, and collaborate in care teams
- Understand safety, ethics, and communication for patients across all ages and conditions
- Develop professional readiness through clinical education experiences
Program Requirements
This program requires 70‑71 credits, including general education (e.g. writing, statistics, psychology), science (anatomy & physiology, microbiology), core PTA procedure and theory courses, and multiple clinical education placements. The progression spans five semesters (including summer sessions), with prerequisites for many PTAP courses.
