Financial Aid

The Student Financial Services Office will help you pursue all available forms of financial assistance to bridge the gap between the cost of college and your available resources such as:

Financial Aid Special Circumstances  

If you or a family member have experienced a significant change in income due to job loss, death of a parent or spouse, or significant medical expenses you may be eligible for a special circumstances appeal regarding your financial aid. If you would like more information, please contact our office at 724-284-8509 regarding the special circumstances process.

  • PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency)  PA Student Aid Guide - stay up to date on everything financial aid.
  • FSA ID Personal Tracker - Use the FSA ID Personal Tracker to write down and secure your FSA ID. You and/or your Parent will need to keep this information to access Dept. Of Education websites or to sign electronically. This tool is not required and for personal and confidential use only. Do not share your FSA ID.

Summer Financial Aid

BC3 offers and participates in financial aid programs during the summer term. Summer offers begin mid-April and are disbursed after the start of summer terms as students qualify. The following participating programs are: Federal Pell Grants, Federal Work Study, Federal and Private Loans, Outside Scholarships and Veteran benefits.   The Book Allowance program is not offered in the summer sessions.

Complete the Correct FAFSA

  • The 2024-2025 FAFSA applies to Fall 2024 (August-December), Spring 2025 (January-May), and Summer 2025 (May-August) and will use your 2022 federal tax information.
    • If you plan to enroll in spring 2025 or summer 2025, file the 2024-2025 FAFSA using 2022 tax information. The recommended filing date is November 15
  • The 2025-2026 FAFSA applies to Fall 2025 (August - December), Spring 2026 (January-May), and Summer 2026 (May-August) and will use your 2023 federal tax information.  This FAFSA should be available to complete in December 2024.

Apply for financial aid in 3 simple steps:

1. Create an FSA ID

An FSA ID acts as your electronic signature on federal financial aid applications.

2. Submit a FAFSA

  • A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in applying for federal financial aid programs such as Pell Grants, SEOG Grants, Student Loans, and Work-Study jobs. Other types of financial aid use the information from the FAFSA to determine eligibility for their programs.

3. Complete a Pennsylvania State Grant Status Notice

Pennsylvania residents can apply for state funded financial aid programs through PHEAA.
