Our program instructors are Pennsylvania certified teachers and experts in their content area.

Mrs. Jennifer Antonio

Mrs. Jennifer Antonio completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education Biology at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and her Master of Science Education at Lebanon Valley College. She holds PA teaching certificates in Biology and General Science. She taught for 10 years in the high school classroom, teaching a variety subjects such as Physical Science, Biology, Introduction to Genetics, and AP Biology. Since leaving the classroom full time, Jennifer has continued as an educator through private tutoring, homebound instruction and at Butler County Community College where she teaches Biology I, Environmental Biology and Introduction to Education. Jennifer enjoys being a part of the Praxis program to assist and collaborate with others who are preparing for a career in education. In addition to test-taking strategies and Praxis content review, she also shares teaching strategies, activities and tips for success with her students.

Mrs. Cheryl Bachman

Mrs. Bachman completed her degrees in Elementary and Special Education at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Cheryl teaches second grade in a self-contained classroom at Moraine Elementary School in the Slippery Rock Area School District. Cheryl’s expertise in all academic areas and her experience with differentiated instruction enables her to be an excellent tutor for teacher candidates preparing for their exams.

Mrs. Kristen DiDonato

Mrs. Kristen DiDonato earned her Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Kristen also completed her Master's of Reading at California University in Pennsylvania. She currently teaches third grade for the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. Kristen greatly enjoys working with teacher candidates through one-on-one tutoring to help them achieve their goal of becoming a teacher.

Mrs. Sandy Herald

Ms. Sandy Herald graduated in 1996 from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Exceptionalities. In 2011 Sandy completed a Masters of Education, Reading Specialist also at Slippery Rock University. She works with education majors daily as the Curriculum Library Director at Grove City College and teaches a class on Adolescent Literature.

Mr. Patrick Huth

Mr. Patrick Huth earned a bachelor's degree in Physics and Astronomy and a Master of Education in Science Education at the University of Pittsburgh. He has been teaching Physics and Astronomy at the Boyce Campus of the Community College of Allegheny County since 2008. Patrick’s professional experience also includes teaching at Woodland Hills High School and Indiana University of PA, working as a NASA Aerospace Education Specialist at the Dryden Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, and as Education Programs Coordinator for the Office of Naval Research at the Penn State University’s Electro-Optics Center in Freeport, PA. Patrick knows that through hard work, anything is possible, and he is committed to helping others achieve their goals.

Mrs. Milann Karnes

Mrs. Milann Karnes earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education at Clarion University of PA. She teaches algebra, geometry, and calculus at Moniteau School District. Having studied curriculum and instruction, she pocesses the ability to thoroughly explain problems and solutions. Patience and expertise are her gifts.

Mrs. Megan Kramer

Mrs. Kramer is a German, ESL and Gifted Support Teacher at Slippery Rock High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in German and Secondary Education from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. She later earned a Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Duquesne University and completed the English as a Second Language Certification program as well as the Gifted Endorsement program. For ten years she taught at international schools in Switzerland and Dubai before returning to Pennsylvania in 2010. In addition to teaching and tutoring, Megan scores the TOEFL and TOEFL Junior tests, the SAT Essays and the German Praxis. Her extensive experience on both sides of standardized testing is an asset when it comes to tutoring for the Praxis. Megan is passionate about teaching and about helping others to become teachers.

Mrs. Annie Lindsay

Mrs. Annie Lindsay completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education at Miami University of Ohio and then continued her studies to earn a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati.  She is certified to teach grades K-6 and also maintains her principal certificate for grades K-12.  Annie taught for eleven years in the elementary classroom before joining the Butler County Community College family.  She currently teaches courses for the education department and the PAPA/PECT/Praxis program.  Annie has been preparing students for high-stakes standardized state testing since entering the classroom.  She believes that understanding the test objectives, preparing with the correct materials, and designing a study plan geared to meet each student’s needs are the keys to success!

Mrs. Stephanie Long

Mrs. Stephanie Long completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education (grades K-6) and her Master of Education with a Reading Specialist certification both from Slippery Rock University. She previously taught nine years in the elementary classroom in two different states before beginning her career at Butler County Community College. In addition to teaching Preparatory and Developmental Reading courses, Stephanie also teaches multiple education courses for the college. She believes preparation and encouragement are essential to passing the Praxis and PAPA exams. By focusing on the content and working on test taking strategies, Stephanie believes every student will achieve their dream of becoming a teacher.

Mrs. Kerry Miller

Mrs. Kerry Miller finished her bachelor's degree in history from Minot State University in North Dakota. After returning to Pennsylvania, Kerry earned a master's degree in education from Waynesburg College where she obtained her PA teaching certificate in secondary social studies. Kerry is also certified in English, Math, Science, Biology, Spanish, Health, Library Science, and Latin. Kerry has been an instructor with the Butler County Community College Praxis program since 2006.  She knows how stressful it can be to take the Praxis exams, but Kerry believes the key to overcoming test anxiety is preparation! Kerry provides students with great review materials and helps students focus their attention on key test areas.

Mrs. Karie Muir

Karie graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and a Master's degree in Secondary Education. Karie started as a Chemistry teacher at a public high school then transitioned to private tutoring in a wide variety of academic environments. Karie has worked extensively with homeschooling students and also online with SAT and ACT test prep students. In addition to Praxis tutoring, Karie currently teaches Environmental Science at Butler County Community College. Karie likes to create a learning environment that allows her students to feel supported along their academic journey. Karie enjoys preparing her students for exam day and seeing her students achieve success.

Mrs. Holly Murphy

Mrs. Holly Murphy earned her Bachelor of Science Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Grove City College. She earned her Master's and Reading Specialist Certification at Slippery Rock University. Holly currently serves as a K-6 reading specialist in North Hills School District. She also enjoys working with Praxis/PECT students through online courses and individual tutoring. Holly understands the hard work and preparation that goes into preparing for the exams and is dedicated to helping her students pass!

Mr. Daniel Parsons

Mr. Daniel Parson earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Slippery Rock University and his Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from California University of Pennsylvania. He is certified to teach in grades K-6 and holds a Principal Certification for grades K-12. Dan currently serves as his school’s head teacher and teaches first grade in the Ellwood City Area School District. His professional experience and emphasis on instructional leadership, inclusive classrooms, and professional collaboration help him to serve as an effective tutor for teacher candidates. Dan understands the preparation and perseverance it takes to pass the Praxis and PAPA exams and strives to effectively guide students toward successfully meeting their goal of becoming an educator!

Ms. Marie Sabatelli

Ms. Marie Sabatelli holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. To pursue her passion for teaching, she later earned a Master of Education Leadership degree from Immaculata University. Marie is certified in both Elementary Education K-6 and English 6-12. She has twelve years teaching experience in a brick and mortar setting with grades K-3 where she was elected Teacher of the Year by the student body. She has been teaching Middle School Language Arts online for the past seven years and is skilled at preparing students for high-stakes standardized tests. Ms. Sabatelli has a desire to support teachers in developing their craft and guiding them through the world of education.

Mr. Brian Welsh

Mr. Brian Welsh graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2017 and a Master of Education in Secondary Education/History in 2019. Brian started his career working in a private school for court-adjudicated youth and is currently teaching at Knoch High School within South Butler County School District. In addition to teaching, Brian also coaches varsity football and varsity boys & girls track within Freeport Area School District. Brian understands that the path to becoming an educator is not always easy and he is passionate about aiding those walking that path in any way possible.

Customized Training

Our program can customize training workshops, courses, or content-specific videos to meet your organization’s testing needs. Workshops or courses can be held at your location, a location of your choice, or online. Typical group size ranges from 10 to 25 participants. New Class

Now Offering Preparation for Grades 4-8 English Language Arts & Social Studies and grades 5 and 6 Mathematics & Science for add-on option for Grades PK-4 Certificates!

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has announced a Grades 5-6 testing add-on option for the Grades PK-4 certificate only. PreK-4 certificate holders may take two modules: Grades 4-8 English Language Arts and Social Studies (5154) and Mathematics and Science (5155) to add grades 5 and 6. PreK-4 candidates may take these modules during or after the PK-4 program and apply for them simultaneously, but the evaluation of the Grades Prek-4 requirements will be evaluated first and the Grades 5-6 add on certificate will only be granted once the PK-4 certificate is approved.
