(Butler, PA) All-American Josie Russo and Dakota Weldon had nine kills each, Anora Robare 27 assists and Sarah Lucas nine digs as the fifth-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball team moved to 16-0 on Tuesday evening with its 15th sweep of the season.

Molly Bissell added seven kills and with Robare seven digs each as the Pioneers topped Penn State Shenango 25-18, 25-21 and 25-17.

The sweep was BC3’s 14th in a row. The Pioneers have not lost a set since Aug. 23.

BC3 is ranked No. 5 among 86 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III programs. The program has been in the Top 15 in Division III in 33 of 37 polls dating to Oct. 4, 2021.

The Pioneers on Saturday play the College of Southern Maryland at 10 a.m. and Westmoreland County Community College at 5 p.m. in Youngwood.

Russo, a middle hitter, is a graduate of Freeport; Weldon, an outside hitter, of Laurel; Robare, a setter, and Bissell, an outside hitter, of Slippery Rock; and Lucas, a defensive specialist, of Butler.
