(Johnstown, PA) First-year players Addison Say had 27 assists, Taylor Simon 21 digs and Madelyn Nosel 12 kills as the seventh-ranked Butler County Community College volleyball team moved to 3-0 on Friday night with a sweep of Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in Johnstown.

Simon also led the Pioneers with six service aces in their 28-26, 25-16 and 25-15 victories.

Second-year player Sarah Lucas added 12 digs for BC3, which is ranked No. 7 among 86 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III programs in a Week I poll released Aug. 31.

BC3’s program has been ranked in the Top 15 in Division III of the National Junior College Athletic Association in 38 of 42 polls dating to Oct. 4, 2021, including the past 19 in a row.

Say is a setter and opposite hitter and graduate of Keystone High School; Simon and Lucas are defensive specialists and Butler High grads; and Nosel, an outside hitter, is a graduate of Warren.
