Whether you're looking to improve your reading, earn your high school diploma, or feel more confident using technology, BC3's Adult Literacy Program is here to help—at no cost to you.
What You Can Learn
We offer classes and workshops in:
- High School Equivalency Prep (GED® and HiSET®)
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Basic reading, writing, and math
- Computer skills and technology
Classes are available in-person, online, or a mix of both. Choose a day, evening, or weekend schedule that works for you.
High School Equivalency Prep
Earn your high school diploma—no matter when you left school. Our free prep classes help you get ready to take the GED® or HiSET® tests so you can earn a credential that’s recognized just like a high school diploma. This can open new doors to college, job training, and better career opportunities.
Step 1: Attend Orientation
Orientation includes an introduction to the Adult Literacy program, placement testing, and class scheduling.

I probably would not have been able to do this without Caris (Doss). She sat down with me and showed me everything I needed to do, things I needed to work on, and practice. It brought so many different kinds of feelings knowing I accomplished this and got it done.
Cheyenne Tribble - Mercer
This gave me a second chance. I went through a military program and didn’t quite complete there. BC3 made it to where I could finally finish it and get on with my life. Trish (Canedy) really inspired me. She built me up. She made me feel confident about myself. And it finally worked out for me.

It really helped me. I tried to get my GED twice before on my own. I’ve always had a hard time learning. And honestly, they made it so easy. Any time I doubted myself, my teacher quickly would tell me I could do it and believed in me. She believed in me more than I believed in myself, and that is really what helped so much.

In high school, I struggled a lot academically and with confidence. But then I found BC3’s program for adult literacy and it completely changed everything. This wasn’t the same as high school. I came from a place where I felt like I did not always have a chance. It was important to feel like I had a chance and that people believed in me.

BC3’s program changed my life. It allowed me to accomplish something I always wanted but wasn’t able to do alongside most of my peers. Obtaining my GED has opened so many doors. The world feels like my oyster! My teacher, Caris, was phenomenal. She was my biggest supporter and became a close mentor to me. The entire staff showed me such kindness and made me feel seen. I’m filled with gratitude, pride, and a whole new level of confidence coming out of the program. I am so excited to be wrapping up this chapter of my life and moving on to a new one as a college student at BC3.
