A Night of Graphic Novels

How do you read a comic book/graphic novel? It seems like an easy question, but many people have trouble following the flow of information on the page. The interplay of image and text creates layers of meaning that is unique to the art form.

Join us as Wayne Wise, a Pittsburgh area freelance writer/artist, provides a brief introduction to many of the concepts behind the art and storytelling of comics and graphic novels and the ways in which narrative meaning are constructed.

The manager of the Butler location of New Dimension Comics will be here to present the Library with a substantial donation of graphic novels to add to our collection.

New Dimension Comics has also generously donated a pair of tickets to their 3 Rivers Comicon event which will be raffled off to one lucky attendee that evening!

Refreshments will be provided.
