The internet has opened up the entire world for communication, partnerships and sales. Computers and internet access are now with us 24 hours a day through our phones, Blackberries, Droids, iPods, iPads, etc. To tap into the limitless possibilities of the internet, you must have a great way of connecting with and attracting new contacts and customers. A great web page is the gateway to connecting with all that the internet has to offer.
“Real world” techniques and capabilities will be taught with the objective of creating a professional web site. So, if you are looking for an opportunity to work at home and earn an income or would like to put your web design skills to use in a business environment, this program will be beneficial to you. It will provide the skills and knowledge required to create web sites quickly and easily. This course will be interactive and include hands-on computer lab time.

Students will be required to purchase a textbook for the course. Students must also purchase a removable flash drive or hard drive and purchase a web hosting service subscription.
INTRODUCTION TO WEB PAGE DESIGN
This course is designed to provided the knowledge and basic skills needed for a foundation in web design. It will include the following topics of study: establishing and publishing web sites, coding with HTML and CSS, working with code generators (Dreamweaver), creating and editing web-ready images and custom graphics, creating appealing and functional interfaces.
In this course students will develop a basic knowledge and skill base that can be expanded upon into more specialized fields. Classes are interactive and include hands-on computer lab time, in which students will have the opportunity to develop their own websites.

Prerequisite: Intermediate computer skills and/or Web Design I skill set (accredited class or equivalent experience).
