Online Learning Orientation Facts
Completion of the Educational Technology (ET) orientation is REQUIRED for ALL NEW BC3 Online students or any student enrolled in an online class who has not taken the Online Orientation in the past two years.

All PRAXIS/PAPA non-credit students will access the orientation in their courses on the first day of classes. However, enrollment in an online credit course will require the ET Online Orientation, also.
Online Classes and Blackboard
All classes will not be visible in Blackboard until the first day the class is scheduled AND ET Orientation completion requirements are met.
(If you have completed the ET orientation within the last 2 years, you do not have to take it again.)
Blackboard is the web-based product that BC3 uses to deliver classes via the Internet.
Credit Students, please note that your My.BC3.edu e-mail address MUST be activated and used for all BC3 correspondence. Click My.BC3.edu for directions to activate. Non-credit students do not receive MyBC3 e-mail accounts.

TO REGISTER for the free Educational Technology Online Orientation:
The Course ID is GENL 001 B60.
Please register through the Student Portal or the Office of Registration and Records.

You DO NOT have to come to campus for this orientation!!!
Work online at your convenience anytime after the beginning date from the comfort of your own computer.All online classes in Blackboard will not be available until the first day of class AND orientation is completed so it is imperative to complete this GENL 001 B60 by the first day of class.

Click MyBC3 in the upper Right hand corner
Click Login under Blackboard (Brown box in Middle-right) or look at the login directions
Your login info for Blackboard is:
UserName: the letter B + your 7 digit student ID (example b1234567)
Password: Your date of birth (example, if your birth date was August 12, 1976 password would be 08121976)Once your class has begun, if you complete the orientation after 3:00 p.m. you will not have access to any classes in Blackboard until 3:00 p.m. the next BC3 business day.
Please read this Getting Started Guide FIRST.
It should take you about 2 hours to complete this orientation, depending on your system settings and skill level. You do not have to complete it in one sitting.
If you do not complete the orientation before the first week of classes, many professors will not allow you to join the class or make-up missed work.
If you do not complete the GENL 001 B60 orientation before the deadline (TBA), you will be dropped from your online classes!
