On-Campus Users
For a complete list of Beck Library's online research tools, go to Beck Library on Blackboard. A few of the library's resources are available to on-campus users without logging onto Blackboard. They are:
- America's Newspapers - database of over 800 newspapers
- CQ Researcher - use to find reports on issue topics
- Credo Reference -- collection of online reference books
- EBSCOhost - magazine, journal and newspaper articles
- Global Road Warrior -- use to research countries
- Hoover's - use to find indepth information on companies
- Reference USA - use to find companies based on search criteria and access basic company information
- Salem Health - collection of health/medical online reference books
- Salem Literature - collection of literary online reference books
- Westlaw Campus Research -- use to research legal topics
Off-Campus Users
The primary means of accessing the library’s resources is through Beck Library on Blackboard. However, the following resources can be accessed off-campus by entering the barcode number on your BC3 photo ID or Beck Library Card.

To Access Beck Library on Blackboard
- Go to blackboard.bc3.edu
- Login as directed on the site
- Once in Blackboard, click on the Beck Library on Blackboard link. It is listed under the My Courses menu.
- Use the green navigation buttons in the left sidebar to access different types of resources available through Beck Library on Blackboard such as articles or e-books.
Here is a sample of what you will find.
Find Articles -- Access magazine, journal and newspaper databases. Includes the library's collection of e-journals and e-reserves for some BC3 classes.
Find Books -- Links to library catalogs and Netlibrary, which is a collection of e-books
Subject Search -- Resources organized by subject. See the Business folder to access company research databases like Hoovers or Reference USA.
Ready Reference -- Contains links to almanacs, encyclopedias, business databses, calendars, calculators, conversion tools, and various other reference materials.
Writing Guides -- Help for writing and citing papers
