I enjoy meeting new people and remember what it was to be both a new student and new to the area. Hopefully I li to be both a new student and new to the area. Hopefully I ke to be both a new student and new to the area. Hopefully I can help students with their transition.

I'm a nontraditional student majoring in both Human Resources and Nursing. Having almost finished the HR program, I'm currently halfway through my first year in the nursing program. While the experience has been hard and requires great efforts and dedication, it's also very rewarding. My fellow nursing students and I have formed great friendships while working together, forming study groups, and working in clinicals as well as doing all the paperwork associated with clinicals. I plan to finish up the last of my HR credits in the Summer and graduate in Spring of '09 with both degrees.
To spread the word about BC3. It has been a great decision for me and I hope others will take advantage of what a BC3 education offers.
The students here are not just a number. Each class is small enough for the instructors and students to get to know each other.
Get involved; you get to meet people that you probably wouldn't have met otherwise. School is much more than academics; take in the whole experience.
Work as a Physical Therapy Assistant and put to use what I learned at BC3.
My semester has been very busy but lots of fun. My coursework in the Physical Therapy Assistant Program has given me a lot of long nights and weekends filled with studying for exams. I study with my classmates and I find this helpful as well. As a student ambassador, I participated in social events like open house, which allowed me to have some interaction on campus as well. I have completed all of my final and am currently on my second clinical internship for the PTA Program.
I am all about people. I love to be around people, make new friends and learn from others as much as I possibly can.
It has opened doors for so many people, including myself to step through and make a better life for one's self.
Don't be afraid to be yourself and be open to the entire experience. There are many different opportunities for people with a wide variety of tastes.
Obtain a job in a Human Resources related position and hopefully continue my schooling as I work towards my M.B.A.
This semester has been an adventure. I've taken on quite a few responsibilities, but they have all paid off. Being the president of Phi Theta Kappa has humbled me. I've learned that in order to lead other you must first learn how to serve others. Being a tutor has given me an enormous level of satisfaction. It is such a great feeling when you help a fellow student in need. Finally, as a student ambassador I have had the chance to meet many new people. Of course all this responsibility does come with a lot of work, but it's all worth it. That's the beautiful thing about BC3, you can do what you want to do, be who you want to be, and explore many different ventures of life without ever leaving campus. You can learn how to be a leader, a teacher, a guide, and so much more. BC3's motto is, "The Smart Place to Start" for a reason. Here students not only learn about their prospective careers, but they learn about themselves. That's where the real education lies. Only when a person truly discovers themselves does the real learning begin, and that learning begins at Butler County Community College.
The atmosphere at Butler County Community College is so friendly that no one could possibly leave this place feeling rejected or alone. The students here are the friendliest people you could ever want to meet, and that also goes for the faculty and staff as well. I've asked myself before what makes BC3 stand out from the rest of the schools and I've finally found the answer-it's the people. It almost seems like a dream come true. Sitting in a classroom and laughing and learning while sharing experiences with friends old and new. To discover who you really are; I have strived for each of these and found each at BC3.
I believe in BC3. I am a very organized, reliable, and loyal person. BC3 has given me a new zest for learning and I would be honored if I could share that zest with others.
The teachers are all nice and helpful and make time for the students both in and out of the classroom. The teacher/student ratio ensures a close relationship and enhances learning.
Pay attention, study and do your homework. Don't settle for mediocrity.
Get a job using my skills obtained as a student in the Networking/PC Management program as well as my current program-Computer Programming.
This semester is an easy semester for me. I am only taking two courses. One of my courses is C++ programming. I am doing quite well in this class. I would say that out of the three programming courses I have taken so far, this is my favorite. The other course that I am taking is Intermediate Algebra. I have always loved math and this course is no different.
Along with taking courses, I am working in two of the computer labs in the Business and Health Building. The Business Learning Center is the main lab, but I am fortunate to work in the other two labs located down the hall. The first is the PC Management Lab. This lab is open mainly for students taking the PC Management course, Comp 215. The students can take apart the computers in this lab. The second lab I work in is the Forensics Lab. This lab is set-up for the Computer Forensics Program. It is set-up for students in this program.
I am still a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and I help out when I can with the many activities that Phi Theta Kappa is involved with in the community and here at the college. I have joined another club this semester. It is the Butler Information Technology Society club (B.I.T.S.). It is for all computer majors. I am currently holding a position of co-vice president in this club. The B.I.T.S. club holds a seminar in the spring. The subject of the 2008 seminar has not been picked as of yet, but we will have speakers come in and talk about subjects ranging anywhere from identity theft, computer security, to computer software/hardware issues.
Of course, there is the Ambassador position. I have not had the opportunity to do many tours this semester but hope to be able to conduct more in the spring. I missed open house this year. I was disappointed that I could not attend because as an Ambassador, it is my favorite event.
I hope everyone is enjoying their semester as much as I am enjoying mine. Good Luck.
I would love to be ale to show the incoming freshmen why BC3 is a good choice.
The overall openness and friendliness of the faculty and staff. In the classroom, students are not talked down to but are made to feel as an equal part of the learning process.
It was a mistake to not get involved during my first year here. I would like to inform others that there are great opportunities on campus.
Transfer to a 4-year school (undecided) and major in communications.
What a semester! I have taken on a heavy load of 19 credits, and I am surprisingly doing pretty well. I would definitely consider myself a stress-ball, but its not as bad as you would think. With the help of Blackboard (the online classes), it seems to break up the everyday routine of going to class and then doing homework. I personally like online classes due to that fact that I can work at home and whatever time I need to. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy my classes on campus because I do. And if anyone is looking for an extra class drawing is tons of fun. Anyway, its hard to believe that its going to be November 1st tomorrow and classes are done on the 10th of December. I have enjoyed this semester especially due to picking up this Ambassador job. It has opened up more opportunities and it's a great way to get out and actually do something for the college. If there is anything you think you could do to help out at the college or promote it, its definitely worth it. It also gives you a great opportunity to meet lots of new people. And trust me, the people on campus are as nice as can be. I don't know anyone that wouldn't help you out if you needed them to. I love my classes and I love this nice fall weather. This semester has blown by, and its sad, but I can't wait until the holidays = )
Because I am a friendly, outgoing person, I feel I can help people as they transition to college. To show others that through proper balance, one can be active and maintain quality grades.
The faculty and students are very easy to get along with. There is also something here, academically, for everyone. I allows students to get off on the right foot.
Make the best out of your time at BC3. Put school first and allow BC3 to live up to its motto that it is, "the smart place to start."
I plan to study social work and psychology at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and pursue a Master's Degree in social work there as well.
Wow, I can hardly believe it is almost December already and the semester has almost come to an end. Time flew by so quickly it is unbelievable, but it has been a very successful couple of months. School has been going very well this first semester. All of my classes are very enjoyable and the professors are all very friendly and helpful. I have perfect attendance so far, and have been able to maintain a very good GPA. Hopefully I will be transferring to a four year university in the fall of 2008. Aside from studying and working hard in my classes, I am on the Pioneer Cheerleading Squad which has been keeping me busy as well. We have had practices 3 times each week, and the season began at the beginning of November. I am also involved in Executive Council, and we have planned many exciting events both in the fall and spring semesters. I recently registered for my class for the spring and have almost completed all of my required classes which is exciting! So, that is just an update on how my semester has been going. I hope everyone has a great rest of the school years and a happy holiday season.
As someone who previously attended a private university, I could relate to the student who has not full decided what direction he or she would like to pursue in their education.
The professors don't act like they're on a different level than the students. They are approachable and willing to work with the students.
Go to every class whether you think you need to or not. Also find what works best for you in regards to studying. Everyone is different and some do well studying in the library while others do better in their room.
Become a registered nurse and eventually complete my Bachelor's in Nursing.
Finally midterms are over! This semester has gone by so fast it's crazy, we're already into November with Thanksgiving break fast approaching. I was a bit shocked during midterms because most of my tests were NOT cumulative!! Not to mention EVERY one of my professors had offered extra office hours to make sure that all of the students understood the material we had covered up to that point. It's great having professors that actually care if you pass their class! My one professor actually spent a good 30 min. of class talking to us and explaining all the other stuff that comes along with midterms like dropping a class and things like that. She even was offering to give us advice for scheduling classes for the spring semester, which is ALWAYS a confusing time. BC3 has really thought of everything in order to made the transition from high school to college go smoothly! I have truly enjoyed my semester here at Butler, it's great being at an institution where the staff is so helpful and down to earth. They all seem to like their jobs and it shows. Every faculty member that I have spoken to is always happy and friendly which makes the experience here at BC3 so much more enjoyable.
I love to promote things I believe in and BC3 is one of those things. It provides quality education at an affordable price and allows many to pursue a college education.
It's a great atmosphere, everything is close together so you can walk to everything. Also the tutoring center is very helpful and flexible in their assistance.
Get involved with campus activities, there's something for everyone. Go to class and realize that this is no longer high school-more is expected of you.
Work as a R.N. at either Butler Memorial Hospital or with the Visiting Nurses Association.
I am in pre-nursing and I plan on earning a degree in registered nursing from Butler County Community College. My first semester is ending soon and it was fun while it lasted. I can't wait until January my classes next semester are going to be really fun. I have made many friends here and there are some great events for students to attend. During spring semester we even have Spring Fling. I hope to see you here at BC3 sometime. Good luck in the future.
