For over 40 years, Butler County Community College has been the "The Smart Place to Start" for more than 100,000 students. Now more than ever, students are discovering the advantages of obtaining an associates degree before entering the workforce or moving to a four-year college or university.
Our main campus in Butler, PA, is known for its 323 acres of oak groves, rolling hills, walking paths, and a safe, comfortable atmosphere. BC3 serves students in 7 convenient locations in Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties.
BC3 offers 63 associate degree, career, and transfer programs in liberal arts, business, nursing and allied health and technology. BC3's open admission policy allows for the acceptance of all applicants with a high school diploma or GED. In addition to day, evening, and weekend on-campus classes, there are 99 sections of online courses via the Internet to accommodate your busy lifestyle. We recognize the importance of academic and career counseling and are prepared to support you through your academic experience.
At BC3, you're a name, not a number. You'll receive personal attention from more than 200 full and part-time faculty where the average class size is 20 students. Our student body is diverse, ranging from ages 16 to 75, with a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
BC3 is affordable for everyone. We keep costs low through subsidies from Butler County (our local sponsor) and the State of Pennsylvania. Our students pay approximately one-third of the total cost of their education, which is $93 per credit or about $2,790 a year in tuition and fees for students residing in Butler County. Sixty-five percent of BC3 students receive public, private, state, and federal sources of financial aid and scholarships.
To better serve the community, BC3 offers non-credit classes for professional and recreational purposes, summer programs for children, training for business and industry, emergency medical services and public safety, and free classes for senior citizens.
