To Apply Online:

To apply online as a credit or Lifelong Learning student, click "Application for Admission" under the login box below. There is a $25 non-refundable application fee for credit students only.

At the end of the application process, you will receive a student I.D. and password to register for classes and access the Student Portal.

To Apply By Mail:

Credit Students - to apply by mail, download, print, and complete the paper application and mail to the Admissions Office, Butler County Community College, P.O. Box 1236, Butler, PA 16003-1236 or call 724-287-8711, ext. 8346 for more information.

Lifelong Learning Students - to apply by mail, download, print, and complete the paper application and mail to Continuing Education, Butler County Community College, P.O. Box 1203, Butler, PA 16003-1203 or call 724-284-8504 for more information. (Link to PDF)

Login Information:

1. Enter your student I.D. (or social security number) and password. You received this information when you applied to BC3.
2. Your password is the same as your student I.D. If you applied before October 2006, your password is your 2-digit birth-month and 2-digit birth-year.

Once you login, you can change your password by clicking "Reset Pin" in the left column.

If you can't remember your password,

1. Click "Forget Password?" under the login information
2. Enter your student I.D. or SSN
3. Enter your email address. Credit students must use their MyBC3 email addresses.
4. Call the Registrar Office at 724-284-8510 if you experience problems

To access the Student Portal, you must have Windows 2000/XP or higher, Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, and/or a 128 bit encryption.

To Add A Course:

1. Login to the Student Portal
2. Click "Registration" in the left hand column
3. Click "Add Course" and search courses using one of the search options
4. Select the Year and Term
5. Click "ADD" next to the course and repeat the process for additional courses. If nothing happens, hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking "ADD."
6. Click "SAVE" when finished to confirm the added courses; Your courses will not be added to your schedule until you save.

Credit students cannot add certain Math and English classes until they take the placement tests.

To Drop A Course:

1. Login to the Student Portal
2. Click "Registration" in the left hand column
3. Select the Year and Term
4. Click the drop button next to the course you wish to drop;
5. Click "SAVE" when finished to confirm the dropped course

Lifelong Learning students should call the Continuing Education Office at 724-287-8711, ext. 8246 to drop a course or be added to a waiting list.

Academic Planner:

The Academic Planner allows you to check your current academic progress. It lists completed classes and classes needed for your current major. If you are considering changing your major, you can also view classes completed and needed for a different major.

1. Login to the Student Portal
2. Click "Audit" in the left hand column
3. Make sure the information is correct under "Last Enrollment" (the last semester you enrolled) and "Major" (your current major)
4. Click "Match" on the top, right side
5. The information will be displayed in an online PDF in a new window

If you have recently taken a Lifelong Learning class, your "Last Enrollment" or "Major" may not be listed correctly. If you want to change to your current credit major or view a planner with another major:

1. Select the desired "Catalog Year" and "Program" under "Match Another Program"
2. Click "Match" on the bottom, right side
3. The information will be displayed in an online PDF in a new window

To Pay Tuition Online:

1. Login to the Student Portal
2. Click "Payments" to pay tuition by credit card*
3. Select the Year and Term
4. Click "SAVE" to process your payment. "SAVE SUCESSFUL" should appear. If not, call the Finance Office at 724-287-8711, ext. 8239

BC3 accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Credit cards are securely processed online through Verisign Payflow.

*Credit students must pay tuition in full by the deadline or courses will be automatically dropped. Any courses added after the deadline must be paid at the time of registration. See "Deadlines" for exact dates. *Lifelong Learning students must pay for courses at the time of registration.

To pay by check, mail your payment to Butler County Community College, P.O. Box 1236, Butler, PA 16003-1236. Please include your student I.D. To pay in person, call for locations and directions. 1098T:

As a credit student, your tuition is often tax deductible. Follow these instructions to access and print your 1098T:

1. Login to the Student Portal
2. Click "1098T" from the options bar on the left side of the screen
3. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click "PRINT" Do not use the printer icon at this point
4. When the report is finished generating in a new window, click the printer icon or select a format and export your form.

To View Your Unofficial Transcripts

1. Click "Academic History" in the left hand column
2. Leave the course and school options set at "All"
3. To view your complete transcript, click "Search"
4. To view only classes taken, check "View Courses Only" and click "Search"

To request your official transcripts, download, print, and complete and transcript request form, and mail to the Office of Records and Registration, Butler County Community College, P.O. Box 1203, Butler, PA 16003-1203 or call 724-287-8711, ext. 8331 for more information. (Link to PDF)

Refund Policy:

Please visit the Records and Registration Office to withdraw. Admission and Graduation fees are non-refundable. Financial aid receipts are refunded according to federal and/or state regulations.
